Miguel Peraza

The trajectory of Miguel Peraza, spans more than thirty-five years of evolution and uninterrupted production with more than 50 public monumental works, 350 works of easel for collectors; using figurative or abstract expressions or a combination of both. His first sculpture dates from 1975 and he has participated in 27 individual and 12 collective exhibitions, exhibiting his sculptural proposal in various countries such as Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, the United States, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates and Mexico.

 

Throughout his career he has combined artistic expression, teaching work and editorial production. He is a tenured professor since 1981, now with his self-taught experience of more than 30 years and through his academic training, it has allowed him to give more than 60 conferences, in the United States, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile and Mexico. He has also taught subjects and seminars on specialized topics in: Art Market, Space Problems, Color Theory, Art Production, Sculpture Treatises and its history in various public and private universities where he founded the Art Market subject.

 

His creative work for the last 25 years is related to the urban landscape and the exaltation of everyday life. His public works are located in avenues, gardens, universities, public and private institutions in different cities of the world. He has been the curator of the works of art of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Estado de México since 1995. Founding coordinator of the Humanitas Chair and of the collection of research publications Humanidades Tec, of the same Institution, co-published with the Grupo Editorial Miguel Ángel Porrúa .

 

He investigates the market, history and trends of art. Co-author with Josu Iturbe of the book THE ART OF THE MARKET IN ART (Editorial Plus, 1990) which already presents a third printing, edited by Miguel Ángel Porrúa in 2009.
